چکیده

A tapered microfiber decorated with titanium dioxide-silicon dioxide nanocomposite saturable absorber (TiO 2 -SiO -SA) is demonstrated via alkali fusion method and spin-coating technique. The TiO -SA exhibited 17.1% modulation depth, 31.7 µJ/cm 2 saturation fluence 35.4% non-saturable loss. was able to generate a pulse duration of 797 fs at repetition rate 10.39 MHz an average output power 16.57 mW 1.56 μm. This work presents enhanced within titanium-based absorbers. high damage threshold beyond 24.82 GW/cm excellent stability are believed have opened new route using nanomaterials derived from waste product for next generation ultrafast photonic applications.

Graphene-clad microfibre saturable absorber for ultrafast fibre lasers

Graphene, whose absorbance is approximately independent of wavelength, allows broadband light-matter interactions with ultrafast responses. The interband optical absorption of graphene can be saturated readily under strong excitation, thereby enabling scientists to exploit the photonic properties of graphene to realize ultrafast lasers. The evanescent field interaction scheme of the propagating...

Polarization and Thickness Dependent Absorption Properties of Black Phosphorus: New Saturable Absorber for Ultrafast Pulse Generation

Black phosphorus (BP) has recently been rediscovered as a new and interesting two-dimensional material due to its unique electronic and optical properties. Here, we study the linear and nonlinear optical properties of BP flakes. We observe that both the linear and nonlinear optical properties are anisotropic and can be tuned by the film thickness in BP, completely different from other typical t...

Saturable Absorber Mirrors For Passive Mode-locking

Saturable absorber mirrors (SAMs) are grown by low-temperature solid-source molecular beam epitaxy. The nonlinear absorber layer consists of one InGaAs quantum well. The devices have response times shorter than 10 ps and small non-saturable losses (less than 0.3%). SAMs with modulation depths between 0.6% and 2.0% were used to mode lock a Yb:KYW laser at around 1040 nm. The minimum achievable p...

Carbon nanotubes for ultrafast photonics

Single Wall Carbon Nanotubes (SWNTs) are of great interest in photonics and optoelectronics due to their linear and non-linear optical properties. Features in the optical absorption and emission spectra are generated by excitonic transitions [1–3]. SWNTs show strong third order nonlinearities through these excitonic transitions, as they become more transparent when irradiated by high power (sat...
